(Pictured is Gabby. He was kind of a bully and one of the other cats - probably in self defense - scratched his eye and it had to be removed in June 2016. In spring 2017, this 13 year old cat began limping, and it ended up being an aggressive cancer.)
We have had to put over 40 of these cats to sleep over a period of 10 years, because whatever ailment they had could no longer be treated and they were suffering.
Dr MacKenzie is extremely knowledgeable, but just as important, her bedside manner is excellent.
Took my cat in 5 days ago. She had a fever of 104. They gave me medicine for the fever, did blood work and set me home with my baby. The bill was $263. I couldn’t pay that up front so the receptionist said I can make payments. The very next day I get a phone call about the blood work. Everything is fine and normal. Absolutely nothing to be alarmed about my cat just had a cold. 5 days later (today), I get a phone call demanding payment. Well I haven’t gotten paid yet, it’s every other week. I was than told the doctor needs to discuss the blood work but won’t talk to me at all until the $263 is paid in full. Than hung up. Trying to scare me with the health of my cat. She is seeing a new vet Monday for new blood work, with a vet that doesn’t withhold medical information just because of a bill. That place is just after money. They don’t care about animals. Just a joke.
We have faced feline leukemia, feline aids, liver failure, cancer, cauliflower ear, FIP, and a few health mysteries, simply because these animals were neglected so much by the doctor and nurse.
Waited 1/2 hour to get our dogs nails clipped, with a appointment. No one even came in the room to tell us what the delay was eventually we just left. When I called after I got the dog home I got the same old BS "we had two emergencies come in" that doesn't excuse very poor customer service and if you had two emergencies then how come your technicians were sitting behind the counter laughing and carrying on like high school kids? I am done with that place
We have had to have eyes removed, countless teeth removed, asthma to treat and more.
We have had our dogs, including a wicked case of mange on one rescue dog, treated as well.
She has been the most gentle of all the vets we have used when that sad day comes, and i appreciate the calm, quiet environment. She always has a box of tissues ready for me, and she has cried along with me.
After my neighbors (a doctor and a nurse) abandoned 40+ cats that grew to a herd of 60+ cats, i needed a vet who could handle the various health issues we were facing, in the hopes of finding these poor cats good homes.
A very nice place to take your fur babies
I cannot say enough good things about Dr MacKenzie and her staff. I wish i could give them 100 stars.
We had taken my son's cat to Dr MacKenzie not long before this, and i really liked her and her staff, so one by one i began taking the rescues.
BEWARE!!! STAY AWAY , IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET
